The State of Israel / Palestine
2024-02-20
This topic arouses much one-sided opinion, whichever party (or none) to this long-standing conflict one may support.
On the one hand we have Hamas who inflicted a military incursion on Israel back in early October last, resulting in some deaths and taking a limited number of hostages.
On the other hand we have Israel who in self defence has seemingly set about an unrestricted war on the whole Gaza strip, apparently conflating "Hamas" with the entire Palestinian population so that the latter becomes the target for elimination.
Yes, it's vastly more complex than these over-simplified statements, but space here prohibits an in-depth analysis even were I capable to provide such a thing.
But events move on, and the International Court of Justice in the Hague, following their original hearing of South Africa's assertion that Israel is conducting a genocide in Gaza, subsequently issued a demand that Israel should

Colonel Macgregor Gives us the History Lesson that Putin Omitted
2024-02-17
There's so much in this interview that we are all sure to learn something new, to learn more about the historical events that brought us to where we find ourselves today, and how (but not why) we seem determined to keep digging despite the size of the hole that we are already in. The "why" is a seriously large omission that lies at the heart of current events and future direction.
A tour de force.

Care Pathways for Our Elderly
2024-02-08
Care pathways have become a bit of a euphemism these days for disposal of those elderly for whom the State has no further use, and who are unable to stand up for themselves. It may be controversial but there is a groundswell of opinion that doesn't disbelieve that this took place during the Covid years.
But does it continue today?
Jacqui Devoy reviews the state of play with Brian Gerrish (audio only).
"This is what's happening, they all close ranks - the police, the NHS, the Coroners, the Courts, the pathologists... once one gets uncovered they all get uncovered"
"... if you're 80 or above... you automatically score 5... It's very easy to put someone on... one of these... death pathways... "
"... Matt Hancock ignored all that and implemented NG163 anyway... NG163 is identical to the Liverpool Care Pathway...

Tucker Trails His Interview with Vladimir
2024-02-07
The much-trailed Tucker Carlson interview with Vladimir Putin has proved to be a little elusive. Some channels claim to publish a transcript - or a part transcript, but the real thing doesn't yet seem to be available.
Tucker says he will publish on TuckerCarlson.com and on X (formerly Twitter).
Meanwhile, here is the official low-down on this interview from Tucker himself (aided by Redacted)!

Fight the Climate or Fight Putin?
2024-01-31
The penny is dropping, so to speak.
We can fight the climate (and lose!) or fight Mr Putin (and lose). Or of course we can pretend to fight both, but everybody would see through that... wouldn't they?
War requires energy and in quantity, but "green" doesn't deliver.
And it isn't merely about steel, although that comes into it depending upon whether Mr Putin would allow us time to prepare.
But why would he? He wouldn't. He strikes me as being very rational, particularly about defending Russia and the Russian Federation. So unless we believe that he is only bluffing about defence (which flies in the face of his track record so far) we would be well advised to negotiate a proper defence understanding with him - you stay out of our back yard (which doesn't include the Ukraine) and we will (for a change) stay out of yours. And allow "mutual" inspection...

Democracy on a Knife-Edge
2024-01-30
Financial advisers and their newsletters are not normally regarded as founts of political truth, being not primarily concerned with politics, but with investment opportunities.
That seems to have changed, and I don''t apologise for featuring this piece today, since it is 99.9% about the current state of world politics (and you can pass over the 0.1% investment note without really noticing).
Why so? The truth these days is that political overreach has far more sway over investment returns than the usual economic and commercial factors. In fact, almost everything you can think of has been politicised for better or for worse, including your sex at birth, your pronouns, "pandemic preparedness" and climate

Will Legislation Overcome the Laws of Nature?
2024-01-29
It's a silly question really - the laws of Nature are "immutable", at least as far as human beings are concerned.
So perhaps the government really have set themselves up for an epic fail, even by their own abysmal standards of creating projects that don't work and/or don't come in on time and within budget (yes, such things are possible given reasonable project planning and management that respects the laws of Nature).
The question of course, given that the Government is (at least in its own thinking) all powerful, how much damage it will wreak to the nation and to the population in its attempt to support the unstoppable legislation when it meets the immovable object of the laws of Nature?
And in fact it's much worse than that - it's not just one Government that is hell-bent on this disastrous course, it is pretty much all (largely western) governments, all besotted by the pronouncements of the UN-WEF partnership and their various unaccountable

When is an Abortion a Murder?
2024-01-25
There comes a time when we must call out stupidity, especially when it is clearly part of an unstated agenda, and thus deliberate.
"... pro-abortion MPs, Stella Creasy and Diana Johnson, have tabled two extreme abortion up to birth amendments in an attempt to hijack the Government’s flagship Criminal Justice Bill"
The "abortion debate", characterised slightly less than fully appropriately by the slogan "my body my choice" has been pushed for many years, but when parliamentarians try to insert changes to the rules (to push the envelope into the range of viable births) via amendments to other Bills, and the RCOG decide to discipline medics who report illegal abortions to the relevant authorities, something is clearly adrift with the nation's moral compass, not to mention its legal compass and medical compass.
So without wishing to get entangled in the weeds of the abortion controversy per se (I am after all merely an ignorant male father who

Government by Knee-Jerk
2024-01-24
The UK government appears to be operating in the fantasy land of its own propaganda, where regardless of the facts on the ground, the government always knows best.
Examples of which we all have personal experience:
"Our" NHS - otherwise known as the bottomless pit into which the governing classes are compelled by their own rhetoric to pour ever-increasing amounts of money simply because they can't think of any other "solution". Of course there is always a new reason for this (they were "underfunded", they were "inefficient and should be privatised", they were "inefficient and should be nationalised" "its a pandemic!" etc).
The railways - see above
Transport for London - see above
Of perhaps more significance for our future is their fantasy of global domination, as illustrated by today's headline in the Telegraph:
Fulford Report Monday 22 Jan 2024
2024-01-22
Ben's report today is essential reading.
"Many monotheists think we are facing end times. The reality is we are facing beginning times"
"I will start by summarizing my personal involvement in this war... a massive war that has literally been raging for thousands of years"
"An ancient group mind or cult, known in folklore as 'Satan', is about to be defeated"
No pressure then.

Global Pandemic Preparedness - Dangerously Boring
2024-01-22
We have been hearing about the WHO's power grab under the guise of "pandemic preparedness" or "global health emergency of international concern" (a rather wider definition that could encompass almost anything from corona-sniffle to climate change to alien invasion).
In summary, it means that Tedros can, merely at his own personal whim and fancy, declare such an emergency, and then all the countries that have signed up to the WHO will be obligated to obey all his diktats, regardless of... well, anything really... we could be locked down, locked up, forcibly injected, put on a restricted diet of meal-worms and crickets, even mandated to kill our first-born, all on the arbitrary say-so of the WHO (primary paymaster: Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation).
Clearly this is utterly preposterous, but our politicians have been preposterous for many years, and this is merely, as preposterousness goes, the next level up.

How to End the Israel-Gaza War?
2024-01-21
If we are obviously stronger when we work together and weaker when we fight, then what is it about politicians that embark upon courses of conflict that seem unlikely to yield the professed desired outcome, in preference to taking action that would be calculated to lead to a reduction of tensions?
If we want to solve a problem, then firstly a clear understanding of the root cause(s) of the problem is an essential prerequisite, along with a willingness to develop a common agreement that addresses those root causes and provides a pathway toward peace and reconciliation.
Shouting down and censoring those with whom you disagree is not a viable way forward, except toward more conflict.

The Greatest Deception Ever Told?
2024-01-20
It's obviously impossible to verify most of this story, but if even half of it is true...
You may need to pause it, run at reduced speed (they sped most of it up to reduce the run-time), and take notes. There are far too many linkages to remember in detail, but you can buy the book (published 2017, so you may only need to note down matters post Brexit)!
This connects so many events and happenings of the last twenty years (and more) that it merits attention. You may need to reconsider everything you thought you knew.

NATO Planning for War with Russia
2024-01-19
It's now the talk of the town - the only question seems to be how long before battle commences outside of the Ukraine.
Suddenly everybody seems to have "hypersonic" missiles and they are not afraid to use them.
So how will the UK, having run down its forces over many years, not to mention sending all available spare kit and munitions to Kiev (and quite possibly Israel), propose to catch up with a Russia that has been planning to repel any NATO "aggression" for many years, and has already been on a war footing for around two years?
We keep being told that Russia isn't going to stop at annexing Ukraine, and that the rest of Europe will be next. In point of fact Russia has shown remarkable restraint in staying behind the Dnieper river and not pushing on to take Kiev... so far. It has also

All Round Review of Middle East Status
2024-01-17
Whatever we may think of the conflagration in the Middle Est, whichever side (or none) that we may support, it's difficult to argue that the forces of death and destruction are not expanding their influence.
Much of the argument both in the press and in the ICJ seems to revolve around who takes the blame for this, very little about how to bring the conflict to a close.
If the parties involved are determined to fight it out then that is what they will do, until that determination wanes or supplies run out. Those who provide those supplies should consider their responsibility for prolonging matters.

A few Days old, but MPs are Discussing the Government's Latest Bill
2024-01-16
Not all MPs are knee-jerk supporters of this Government Bill.
"A bill to prevent public bodies from implementing their own boycotts against Israeli goods has passed through the Commons, despite opposition from Tory MPs"
That our government is even contemplating such a Bill seems inconceivable.
If they don't want public bodies to take partisan sides in such matters, then that may well be arguable, but a one-sided ban favouring one specific party that may conflict with a local democratic mandate?

Ever Wondered How Much CO2 is Released by War?
2024-01-16
Lots of course. But how much is "lots"?
S & P Global Commodity Insights has crunched to numbers for us, at least in so far as current wars are concerned.
Our governments are apparently always perfectly able to accommodate several contradictory notions at the same time, so they will unhesitatingly act to "keep us safe" by going to war (not bothering about democratic mandates of course - no time for that) on behalf of their favourite protagonist(s), whilst at the same time telling us that we must achieve NetZero CO2(however they might eventually decide to define that in measurable terms)so out with the gas and in with the heat pumps frozen windmills and darkened solar panels.
So far, two months of conflict in Gaza have generated "the equivalent of 75 coal power plants operating for a
