Is There a Climate Crisis? The Science Says Not Now and Not in the Future
2021-05-03
I reported this lecture by Dr Happer back in March, in the form of a transcript.
I am happy to present this very accessible and informative presentation as a video, which perhaps removes some of the dryness of reading a transcript:
Why not watch your cake and read it?

The Geopolitics of Climate Change - 2050
2021-04-21
Yesterday i had my introduction to the JR Nyquist blog, and today I encounter the Climate Discussion Nexus article on the alleged Chinese ambition to dominate the world...
Now I have to say that I have no firm information - we are certainly in the realms of speculation, but as they say, if the cap fits, wear it.
World history has been littered by a long succession of folk who felt that they were entitled to rule the world (or as much of it as they could get their hands on before their regime fell apart) and would go to any lengths to do so. The problem that we face today is that the world has been shrunk to such an extent by sea travel, air travel, probably soon sub-orbital space travel, and recently by what we might christen zoom travel, that it is now perfectly possible for a dictator or tiny cabal of the rich and powerful to hope to establish world rule, to their own exclusive benefit.

Green Certificates on the March in Europe?
2021-04-17
UK Column (again) bring us the latest news from the "great and the good" in the EU - the European Parliament is to be brought into discussions about the introduction of the (Covid) Green Certificate.
Allegations of propaganda.

Count your Carbon alongside your Calories?
2021-04-16
"There’s rising demand for another type of food label as people become increasingly concerned about climate change, and conscious of how they’re contributing to it"
Demand from whom I wonder? The man on the Clapham omnibus?
Oh - Extinction Rebellion perhaps?
Now I may myself occasionally look at the label on an unfamiliar food product before I buy it, but I'm not looking at the calorie count since I long ago decided that the link between calories and weight gain is a relatively minor part of the whole, a part that only becomes significant when the whole is seriously out of balance.
And I must confess that whilst as a matter of good management I would prefer my food to be locally sourced and subject to fewer food-miles where practicable (it's difficult to grow coconuts in the UK), I'm not convinced that the CO2produced in its transportation is going to destroy the world - it's more likely

Net Zero In Peril?
2021-04-12
Benny Peiser of the Global Warming Policy Forum releases another round-up of articles evaluating the prospects for the much-vaunted "Net Zero" initiatives so beloved of the climate lobby. Food for thought.
As is usual in discussions about "Net Zero", the two indispensable weapons are always carbon taxes and subsidies, both paid for but never voted for by the tax-payer or by the population who purchase power in the form of electricity, gas, or oil.
But surely we vote our governments into power?
But when was the last time any major political party gave the voters a choice by standing on a policy platform opposing these measures?

Debunking the Fake Science
2021-04-08
Dr Shiva describes the history of the Climate Change "science" - what is the difference between "science" and pseudo-science?
(A question that might also usefully be directed towards the Covid-19 pandemic narratives)
Science requires observations (evidence) in order to prepare a hypothesis, and from that hypothesis we may prepare a number of predictions.
The resulting predictions are then compared with new observations of reality, and if all of the predictions are observed to be true then that hypothesis becomes a theory... until new observations come along that do not fit the predictions.
To confirm the theory and guard against errors, the same process must be repeated by independent scientists, working independently, in the process known as peer review. If peer review confirms the results then the theory becomes the "accepted science".A single properly...

German Audit: Green Energy is a "Danger for All of Germany"
2021-04-03
"Control over energy has been a goal of Technocracy since it was founded in 1932. Alternative energy offers control over scarce resources, while destroying abundant energy resources. Whoever control the energy controls all economic activity. Germans are discovering that the whole program is regressive and dangerous"
How does Germany differ from the UK in this respect?

The Protect Nature Now Coalition
2021-04-01
The Protect Nature Now Coalition, an initiative by the Institute for Responsible Technology (IRT), is all about "Safeguarding Biological Evolution from GMOs 2.0".
We have heard much about the genetic modification of the food that we eat and the crops that we grow, but here the emphasis is on the microbiological flora and fauna upon which the health of our natural environment, including the soil, indeed you might say Mother Earth herself, depends.
If nature's microbiome is corrupted, the result may be catastrophic beyond imagining.
Is this just another scare story to add to pandemics and Global Warming?
As always, it's your

Lockdown - the Never-ending Gift
2021-03-27
Our governments around the world now believe that they can do it.
Why would they give it up?

Even Brexit-Watch (straying uncharacteristically off-topic) puts forward their view of how far this government has strayed from our

How to Think About Climate Change
2021-03-17
"The Cyrus Fogg Brackett Professor Emeritus of Physics at Princeton University, Dr. Happer"
With a title like that we should expect something special, and I think that that is exactly what Dr Happer delivers in this excellent presentation.
And yes, this really is all about being green. But does CO2lead to more green or less green?
He explains how the heating and cooling cycles (day and night) that envelop the earth work, how some of that heat is convected northwards and southwards towards the poles, what happens when CO2 and water (vapour and clouds) get in the way, and how changes to the level of CO2 actually in the atmosphere affect both plants and warmth.
This is a comprehensive but accessible deep dive into the salient workings of our planet, our plants, the effect of photorespiration, the historical record of CO2 levels, and what would happen if the amount of

Full Length Climate Engineering Documentary ( Geoengineering Watch )

2021-03-17
The above photo was taken in Hampshire, England, in June 2019.
I am happy to say that since that time the sky-trails have abated significantly, and had done so prior to the onset of the Covid lock-downs that have since reduced the volume of aircraft overhead.
More natural skies seem to be back in Hampshire, at least temporarily.
Nevertheless it provides some verification for the theory that we have been sprayed from above with something that doesn't evaporate (as simple water vapour normally should).
The obvious question is - Why?

A Short (and Jolly!) History of Climate Predictions
2021-03-09
The Ice Age Cometh!
Oh Wait! - Did we get that wrong?
With such ever reliable luminaries as Al Gore and Greta Thunberg devoting their lives to this serious cause, it seems inconceivable that climate science should turn out at all wobbly, surely there is something wrong here?
The Global Warming Policy Forum publish their (ever so slightly tongue in cheek) romp through the history of Climate Scares, from imminent (but ever-receding) Ice Age, to . . . . well, I won't give the game away, you'll just have to download and read it for yourself !

UK's "Net Zero" Costs Were Understated?
2021-03-05
Did Conservative ministers mislead the people about the true estimated costs of the UK achieving "net zero" emissions by 2050?
The Sun believes so.
Now it is true that these figures as now reported were the result of computer modelling by "scientists", so we must hope that their modelling skills were better than those employed at Imperial College for the Covid estimates, but the good news is that if these estimates were indeed overblown by a similar magnitude then the government was probably too cautious in publishing an estimate only £20bn below the modelling result.
Sadly however I am aware of no evidence that the likely error would be on a par with that achieved by Imperial College, so the Sun may well be correct - I guess it all comes down to the likely motivation which led the government to allegedly quote a lower figure

The Texan Snow that Didn't Melt?
2021-03-01
We all read about the severe weather conditions in Texas recently, and we may have noticed various reports that this "snow" didn't melt when exposed to a flame (but did blacken). But I notice that like snow everywhere, after a few days it disappeared.
So was there any reality to this odd story? I don't know, but in view of the considerable belief that man-made weather does in fact occur all over the world (floods in China etc) maybe it's worth some consideration.

Texas Freezes!
2021-02-19
Texas freezes in the grip of very unaccustomed sub-zero temperatures, accompanied by widespread electricity black-outs as the power grid effectively collapses due to inadequate supply.
Wind turbines are frozen stiff, solar panels snowed over, natural gas coal and nuclear generation are maxed out but nowhere near making up the loss of renewables.
Oh, and the planners didn't plan for unusual but not unprecedented severe winter weather.
Doesn't that sound a bit like the UK?
Sounds like just the same green energy planning mindset as in the UK.
Makes you think . . . will we be next?
Here is another report from Texas, this time from Del Bigtree of

Latest Wind Farm Costs - Not So Cheap?
2021-02-19
The Global Warming Policy Foundation reports on the latest accounting information for the new wind farms so beloved of the elites who govern us.
And sobering reading it is.
"Since 2017, renewables advocates have argued that offshore wind power is now very cheap. However, closer examination of their claims reveals a different story"
"The levelised cost (LCOE) remains 3-4 times that of a gas turbine running flat out"
"Ministers and the media 'must stop deceiving the public'"
Amen to that.
Maybe they, like us, need to

Shock Report - Climate Change is Benign?
2021-02-08
The Green movement will no doubt be pleased to hear that their worst fears are proving groundless, "according to a study for the Global Warming Policy Foundation by independent scientist Dr Indur Goklany".
This good news is brought to us by James Delingpole writing for Breitbart.
The Great Climate Catastrophe has been rather pushed out of the news of late due to another more immediate crisis, but of course we should not assume that it has gone away. Perhaps Boris will be pleased to hear that all the change and disruption involved in implementing his new Green New Deal at breakneck speed may turn out to be less urgent or even unnecessary; or perhaps not, time will tell.
