A puzzling feature of the recent Oxford study into the effect of vaccinations on Covid prevalence is highlighted today by Lockdown Sceptics.

The study investigated seven groups of people according the the length of time before and after jabs 1 and 2:

(Group 1 was a control group, no previous positive test and no jab)

• Group 2: more than 21 days prior to jab 1
• Group 3: 21 or fewer days prior to jab 1

The Daily Telegraph reports (paywalled) that an Oxford University Professor says that Britain has moved from pandemic to endemic.

That would obviously be a momentous statement, implying that the emergency is over.

It is already being fought tooth and nail.

The vaccination programme (being credited by many for this situation) would have to be stopped as none are authorised for use outside of an emergency, and the remaining restrictions would be lifted as no longer required.

The AIER reports on the latest CDC acknowledgement that the virus does not significantly infect people from the touching of random surfaces. The risk is now apparently assessed as "less than one in ten thousand" - whatever that may mean, but at least they have now put an upper limit on it.

So all you good people can stand down on spraying disinfectant everywhere - it isn't in general going to do any good, and prolonged exposure may be harmful.

I hope that "the media" will do their duty and give this report the publicity that it deserves, but I'm not placing any bets . . .

Science requires observations (evidence) in order to prepare a hypothesis, and from that hypothesis we may prepare a number of predictions.

The resulting predictions are then compared with new observations of reality, and if all of the predictions are observed to be true then that hypothesis becomes a theory... until new observations come along that do not fit the predictions.

To confirm the theory and guard against errors, the same process must be repeated by independent scientists, working independently, in the process known as peer review. If peer review confirms the results then the theory becomes the "accepted science".A single properly...

I don't want to spread doom and gloom but we need to face the fact that he would certainly appear to be correct that the "Covid pandemic" has been mishandled on an epic scale right across the world.

We really do have to ask "WHY?".

Bear in mind that when considering possibilities to worry about we should weigh our assessment of the chances of it being true against the magnitude of the effect produced should it turn out to be true.

Yes, it hasn't escaped my attention that this is the 1st April - but the article in question was written in March!

Lockdown Sceptics posted a somewhat jaundiced review of where the government is going to take the NHS Test and Trace app, and having read it a few times I find myself torn between thinking that they have finally lost it and gone full conspiracy theorist, and on the other hand thinking that "our" government really might be controlled by some James Bond villain(s) working from within a secret lair to control the world. The latter notion probably wouldn't need more than a few dupes at the top of the power pyramid to ensure that the wrong direction is taken.
