The Donald has a fight on his hands.

His oft repeated desire to close down the federal Department of Education, that same department presumably that is responsible for brainwashing American kids in all matter "woke", especially gender dysphoria and transgender.

Many believe that the same has been happening in the UK. and are not happy about it, and believe that what happens in the US may set the template for what ultimately happens here. This is therefore not a uniquely American problem.

With DOGE's feet now well under the federal table and Trump busy reorganising geopolitics around the world, where do we need to go from here, and will Team Trump take us there?

It's a big picture and the fact that we can even ask the question with a mild tinge of disappointment is testament to the amount of change already under the bridge since 20th January, and the consequent unleashing of expectations that the many and varied problems besetting the world can perhaps indeed be addressed, and in a much shorter time frame than once seemed possible.

Our expectations have indeed been reset!

You know how it is, you wait hours for a bus and then 11 come along in a bus-a-thon. Well, we have waited years for the good sense to do any number of sensible things, and suddenly a Trump Executive Order comes in (along with around 199 others) that portends the exact action required.

Obviously such a dramatic step cannot be just taken overnight as there will be many knock-on effects that have to be considered and seen to be considered, but that process of consideration has now been set in motion.
