New guidance has been issued for legal advisors in the Magistrates Courts.

Apparently there has been an unfortunate tendency for some ill-advised but self-confident people to weaponise the newly-fangled AI softwares as a means to disentangle - indeed even to make sense of - the innumerable legal provisions within the Statute Book, to the detriment of the safe handling of court cases by the professionals in whose reliable hands Court cases have been successfully conducted for centuries.

Obviously this has to be stopped, so the newly-minted Justices’ Legal Advisers’ and Court Officers’ Service (previously the independent Justice Clerks’ Society) has been properly integrated into the Ministry of Justice and has issued authoritative guidance to ensure that such nonsense doesn't affect the operations of the Courts in the future.

Whereas some confused people suggest that this guidance is somehow incompatible with the UK's Constitutional provisions, this notion should be discarded as the guidance now comes from the Ministry of Justice itself.

Out of the Mouth of Cumbria Constabulary ...

Cumbria Police have on the face of it tripped over the Data Protection Act in its dealings with Martin Geddes, who is seeking to audit the State's adherence to its own rules in its dealings with those whom it seeks to punish.

He christens this the "Absolute Zero Protocol" (which for the avoidance of doubt is not related to the Net Zero project, but is all about using every lawful remedy to expose unlawful conduct by the State).

"I have received an extraordinary and damning letter from Cumbria Constabulary — one that exposes them as engaging in overt political policing and unlawful retribution for public speech"

In this case he is using the provisions of the General Data Protection Act 2018 to obtain information that Cumbria Police hold on him in relation to his case. He therefore sent them a Data Subject Access Request as provided for under the Act.

The response illustrates why normal mortal folk with lives to lead beyond the arcane pages of the Statute Book just accede to the State's illegal demands.

"In objecting to it by name, the police have proven Absolute Zero Protocol works" !
