A Midwestern Doctor indulges us with a reasonably comprehensive explanation of where he believes we lost the plot of humanity.
It's long, it's thought-provoking (especially so for the more "mature" amongst us who remember what life used to be like in our misspent youth) and it's a pointed deconstruction of exactly how the modern world has in effect continuously dehumanised the life that we once lived, to the point where it's now at least theoretically possible to meet our every need without requiring any human contact at all. We can do almost anything from our phones ...
So who needs human society any more?
Is that another reason why the birth rate is plunging?
And BTW, what are we really here for?
