It is well understood by now that conspiracy theorists in general are all off their trolleys and not to be trusted, have flaky judgement and are prone to wild imaginings that defy belief within the milieu of the bien pensant.
In short, they are dangerous because they dare to be non-compliant with official thinking. Who knows to what disasters they will lead us?
To which one may justifiably retort that provided they are lesser disasters than the current official thinking seems to be favouring (war with Russia, own nothing and be happy, eat the insects, exist in 15-minute city panopticon prisons, take the potions of Big Pharma unquestioningly, and comply with every daft diktat that the authorities dream up next), what's not to like?
Yesterday I was watching the rare sight of a woodpecker on the tree in my garden. On the way to the lake I narrowly avoided a squirrel that almost ran directly under my bicycle. This morning I was privileged to watch a beautiful fox stroll across the front garden as if he/she owned the place. The untamed wild does not ask permission, does not comply with property restrictions, is distinctly uncivilised, and is all the more beautiful for it.
Are we humans to be so easily controlled that we have fewer rights than mother nature grants to all other life within her dominion?
Well, there are a lot of us it's true, but animals in nature operate in herds, in pods, in groups of all kinds, with rules appropriate to the group. None (with perhaps the honourable exception of crows) submit to a parliament.
So must we humans find the balance that benefits the world as a whole, but surely the operative word is "balance".
Balance requires that such authorities as exist are held to account for their actions. The current collapse of confidence in our governing classes shows clearly that such a mechanism is broken, and must be repaired and/or reimagined if our future world is to be secured for the benefit of the living, of all varieties, including humans.
The bien pensant are by definition incapable of that.
