Quite so. And it doesn't even have to work as advertised - it just needs the control mechanisms to be opaque enough that they cannot be effectively challenged and corrected. When "computer says no" to our attempt to buy a pound of minced beef, or a ticket to Ryde, or a diesel car that works, etc, how are we going to complain and get it reversed?

"This is a very good open letter, reasonably accurately describing what is going on. I highly doubt the addressees will even read it. Perhaps a good number of ordinary members of the public will, though.
The all encompassing nature of the planned take down of Western civilisation is intimidating. I often shake my head at how far the perpetrators have got without significant resistance. It’s so hard to get people not already aware and concerned about the state of everything as well as the clear trajectory."
