It's hard going, but Clif is one of the pre-eminent independent voices who dares to look into the future and share with us what he sees - he's a brave as well as very accomplished man.
Personally I have the greatest respect for his tools and for his intellect, although I'm going to stop well short of saying that he's right about all this!
Predictions are difficult, especially about the future ...
His thinking seems to be that the "financial authorities" will bend heaven and earth to avoid deflation of the currency - and whilst that has been true for all of my lifetime, it doesn't necessarily follow that it will hold under whatever financial regime the Donald will preside over, since a measure of deflation would permit "Main Street" and ordinary people to buy more for their dollar.
So it would be good for their prosperity, right?
But will/could the Federal Reserve / Monetary Authority really buck the trend and change its spots to such dramatic effect?
