David Starkey talks to Rupert Lowe after his involvement with the "rape gangs" enquiry, and his founding of the new political party: Restore Britain.

This site has always said that we don't do party politics, because it's clearly broken. Rupert Lowe seems to agree. So how does he intend to change matters, and will it work?

"This is our last chance, as Britain, to fight for a system that is based and founded on common sense, and a sense of public service, because we've lost that"

"I've always gone into this ... because I want to change the way we are governed ... :"

" ... their willingness to put their own political interests above what is right and what is wrong ... "

"It's not just the Labour government ... it's absolutely every organ of the State has failed ... "

Could that be the real reason why (a) a new political party is required and (b) why it has garnered such huge popular support in such a short time?

David Starkey asks some extremely hard but extremely pertinent questions in this video, questions which we all need to understand and work with if as voters we might ultimately make our voices effective.

This cannot merely be about voting - it has to be about moving public opinion, and moving entrenched attitudes within the Civil Service ... and quickly enough to avoid the one-sided war of attrition between impermanent MPs on the one hand and permanent civil servants on the other.
