It is easy, and in many ways inevitable, that past tragedies fade from our attention. Priorities and circumstances change, life takes new turns. We must move on.
Yet there are recent events still that have not yet been dealt with, that cannot be allowed to be forgotten, until the truth has been recognised, the record has been corrected, and indeed the lessons have actually been learned. Moving on whilst these events remain denied is not an option.
Unacknowledged crimes, like Jacob Marley's chains, will not fade of their own accord unless and until the truth is exposed, faced, and yes, dealt with.
Mark Attwood and his guest remembrancers provide timely reminder.
