Whether this offering passes a rigorous analysis and assessment is certainly contentious, but it may be commended on the basis that it suggests a sound approach. Probably nobody (including me) will take this video as gospel, but revisiting first principles is always good.

Magna Carta is often cited as the basis for our freedoms in England and so in the UK, so in principle we should start with that, together with the Bill of Rights 1689, and compare with current legal and parliamentary practice in order to give us a "conflict and gap" analysis, from which we might arrive at a new statement of what in effect would become our constitution.

Perhaps some authoritative grass-roots group may be formed to take on the task on behalf of the people?
