The Mail on Sunday broke a story this weekend that might give us all pause for thought - and it's not reds under the beds, it's red Chinese in all manner of British and world corporations and institutions, including many household names, not only in the UK.

"This investigation proves that members of the Chinese Communist Party are now spread around the globe, with members working for some of the world's most important multinational corporations, academic institutions and our own diplomatic services"

"Responding to the findings, an alliance of 30 MPs last night said they would be tabling an urgent question about the issue in the Commons"

We know that China has been courting international investment for many years in an effort to educate its workforce in modern industrial practices and methods (I myself worked in Shanghai in 2005 assisting to set up a new factory - the Chinese were eager to learn and I was very well treated). That slowed considerably in recent years as local wage rates caught up with international norms, and came to a screeching halt when "the Donald" decided that he would rather like his manufacturing industries back in America.

But meanwhile the Chinese Communist Party has it seems been busy getting its placemen installed in America:

Secretary Pompeo made a lot of good points.

And if this is going on in the USA, what makes us think that they wouldn't do it here in the UK and elsewhere in Europe, Australia, etc?

Well, it seems that they have.

I think that we have some cleaning up to do, and now that this is out in the open, our government must respond - if it doesn't it will be suspected of complicity.

I note that Boris is reported to be looking to the new nuclear power station (Sizewell C) to provide "clean" power into the future. How will China's involvement develop? How will the news in the Sunday Mail affect this project?

The Global Warming Policy Forum noted recently that China is using its involvement with the green lobby in furthering its interests. Will their interests coincide with ours? Here's another clue.

Can sanity prevail? That's a very relevant question these days given the fearsteria being stoked over the Covid "pandemic" to keep us all indoors (whilst preparations are made on the ground for the "Great Green Reset"?).

Given that so many critical government policies are being brought in without any obvious popular support, it does beg the question: "who is pulling the strings?".
