In fact it was originally passed into law in 2023, but has now been subject to additional amendments:

There's been a lot of water under the bridge since Trump's re-election last November and his inauguration in January, yet somehow none of the alleged criminality (Epstein's "clients", Russiagate, election interference, hoax pandemic, not to mention war crimes (Ukraine, Gaza)) has so far led to actual trials of criminals (in public anyway) (with the anomalous exception of Ghislaine Maxwell who was "done" much earlier).

In recent years the word "hate" has adopted a distinct legal persona - the persona of a false excuse useful for suppressing views and experiences that are legal and lawful, but which specific sections of society (which somehow have the willing ear of government) deem should be suppressed none the less.

This has led to the nonsensical situation that anybody who inadvertently "causes offence" to somebody else totally outside of his control (or even his knowledge) must be dealt with, regardless of the fact that offence may be taken, even when not actually offered. Our National Health Service (or "National treasure" for those who have been asleep for the last 77 years) is the pride and joy of government in this country - medical treatment free at the point of use for all who need it!

What's not to like?

It's paid for by taxing us. And as the benefit is assumed to be so enormous, taxes to support it are correspondingly enormous. And being taxes, we don't get to choose whether we want to pay.
