If you have been following this site for a little while you may have noticed that we don't confine ourselves to any particular theme or subject-matter - our purpose (however well or badly achieved) is simply to challenge our readers to 'think outside the box".

Basically I roam wherever my fancy takes me, or wherever the tram-lines of mainstream media need to be challenged. I try not to present conclusions - reaching conclusions, possibly even just recognising possible conclusions, is your task.

Conjuring with concepts is a favoured ploy - can we align outwardly different concepts alongside each other to identify previously unrecognised linkage? 

With what new insights might we terrify ourselves?!

Perhaps unexpectedly, AI can be a engine which does precisely that. But can AI, that robustly logical machine, really conjure unexpected insights from its 100% logical workings?

AI is simply a label that may mean many things to many people.

Some, such as Mark Playne of NOT ON THE BEEB, and Martin Geddes of Future of Communications, have learned that to get their AI to function responsively to their needs, they may have to train it. 

Others less critical will use AI as is and believe all it tells them - they may find illusion or disappointment, depending on how their AI was trained by its developers. There is nothing to say that the training materials used were well-founded, coherently respectful of truth, and appropriate to all the usage to which the AI could eventually be put.

For my own part I suspect that where the subject matter is straightforwardly factual (such as the Statute Book) AI is likely to be accurate in quoting it, but where value judgements are concerned

Although the Net Zero bandwagon is now coming off the rails globally, our myopic government is still committed to crashing what remains of our economy, impoverishing our population, obeying every edict from the unaccountable WEF-UN partnership, and wondering why Reform is so popular.

Must we wait until the lights go out before anybody does something about this? Or perhaps their solution is to bypass the whole issue by goading Russia into an all-out war (conventional or otherwise), oblivious of the small matter that war needs reliable energy and plenty of it?

When power becomes an end in Itself, politics no longer serves the people.

Martin Geddes attends a republican picnic (who knew?) in Tennessee and takes time out from his legal woes to reflect on what he finds.

Power becoming the end in itself is not merely a US phenomenon, but is widespread within the "democratic" western nations. It causes people to place their faith in political parties rather than policies, and diverts them from holding "their representatives" to account, with results with which we are all too familiar.

Throw "God" into the mix and you don't get a holy spirit, you get more obfuscation and confusion.
