  • Struck by the Law of Unintended(?) Consequences

    2023-12-17

Get your new gas boiler installed before 31st December, or it may cost you!

Why? Well, government meddling of course.

Gas is "BAD" so must be phased out - but the government doesn't want to look bad to the voters (you could have fooled me) so instead of demanding a tax on gas boilers, it's going to tax fine the manufacturers for not installing enough heat pumps.

Since the manufacturers must still make a profit...

  • An Encouragement for Our Time

    2023-12-16

Once more Neil Oliver articulates our thoughts, and does it much better than I could ever achieve.

As the Christmas season approaches, it's easy to get overwhelmed by all the things we think we should have done but haven't (yet) - and at such times as this, even in the midst of global uncertainty rampant, it's important to take a step back, establish a moment of calm, and review what went right as well as what did not go so well, and what remains to be done.

    Neil, we salute you!

  • NY Court Case to Impact on Assange Extradition?

    2023-12-15

Julian Assange seems to have been "on ice" in HMP Belmarsh for an extraordinary length of time.

Quite what they are waiting for is unclear, but there is news of a court case pending in New York, involving alleged overreach by US secret service agents, that may have a bearing on the situation.

  • Dr David Bell Educates our NHS Employees

    2023-12-15

I hesitated over the wording of this title - should I use "Employees" or "Public Servants"?

The distinction matters, because the former are primarily there to obey their masters in the (not inconsiderable) hierarchy of control, and the latter are primarily there to serve the people who turn up requesting help.

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon” - Matthew 6:24

Nor can you serve both the client and your employer unless their requirements are strictly aligned.

We must each form our own opinion on whether that alignment exists within today's NHS (now subsumed within the

    2023-12-14

Dr Benny Peiser reflects on the realities underlying the COP28 pronouncements.

    As the good Dr remarks:

"... for the first time that I can remember, this COP has given the rubber stamp to fossil fuels"

I guess what it comes down to is - what's in a word? As Humpty Dumpty remarked:

"When I use a word, it means just what I choose it to mean - neither more nor less"

Pragmatism, or revolt (by any other name) because too many populations simply cannot survive without effective and reliable power supply?

Tavistock, Deep State, the Cabal... whatever we want to call it - what is it?

It's complicated, but for those who don't want to wade through hours-long presentations, this Swedish group has put together a slew of individual sessions each exploring a limited aspect of the whole.

  • President Putin Reportedly On Schwab's Tail

    2023-12-14

Klaus is said to be on record as voicing his disappointment in Vladimir Putin (reportedly once one of his Young Global Leaders).

Not to be outdone perhaps, the Russian President has been effective in encouraging a global alliance of BRICS countries as an alternative to the petro-dollar-founded pre-eminence of the western anglo-sphere, and is now upping the ante by declaring Klaus a "global terrorist" and "legitimate military target" - maybe the war on terror cuts both ways?

  • Another Take on Our Health (or Lack of)

    2023-12-14

This is going to be controversial!

I have no idea whether the ideas put forward in this tall tale are correct or incorrect - but I do give credence to the general idea that the modern medical industrial complex has seriously lost its way (assuming that it is motivated to support our health well-being and active life-span).

Some now consider that parasites are the cause of a number of our human health problems, but whilst there is widespread acknowledgement that animal parasites do infect our pets and livestock, there may be some disagreement on the existence and extent of modern human parasites. For my part I would ask why humans should be any different from animals in this regard?

This presentation from the Global Sciences Congress 1997 (Tampa) presents the case for human parasites and what to do about them.

In the interests of balance, I should point out that Full Fact has

  • This is Not Financial Advice

    2023-12-13

With faith in the world's financial systems (and the bankers in control of it all) possibly approaching a long-time low, the much-speculated financial crash is thought by many to be incoming, sooner or later.

Obviously these days, money in the shape of currency is what makes the world go round. Any widespread disappearance of the purchasing power that it represents would be catastrophic for consumers, producers, retailers, farmers and everybody else (even if some of the more cynical may expect the bankers to look after both themselves and their politicians).

So as the smallest cogs in the monetary system, the ordinary people, may be wise to consider how they might guard against the eventuality of a serious financial crash. The supermarkets and world supply chains are obviously also thinking about it, but they have other financial tools available to them and are outside scope of this article.

Personally this interviewee strikes me as quite impressive and

  • Keep Calm, Trust Us and Accept Our Assurances

    2023-12-13

At the risk of boring everybody into moving rapidly on to another topic, the Daily Sceptic investigates the discordant clash of messaging emanating from the panjandrums at the WHO, who appear to be negotiating a binding global treaty that would enable them to (a) declare a global health emergency à propos of whatever may enter the DG's head at the time (b) take control of every country's response to the said global health emergency and (c) dictate both medical and non-medical interventions to be imposed on their populations, all the while assuring us that this involves no loss of sovereignty for any individual country.

Whilst the above may make perfect sense to any panjandrum that wants to take over the world, to the man in the street such as myself there do appear to be some obvious discontinuities in the logic here.

Of course the perceived discontinuity may depend upon the motivation - if you are indeed a panjandrum intent on taking over the world then there is no logical discontinuity because (a)

  • "The Great NHS Heist"

    2023-12-07

The NHS is lauded by many as our "national treasure" - much like the BBC really - and set up for ostensibly laudable reasons. Who would not want competent but expensive medical treatment free at the point of use?

    But did the NHS deliver?

Well, here we are in 2023 and those on waiting lists may feel that promise rapidly receding over the future horizon.

How far has the rot set in?

  • Dr Mike Yeadon Spells it Out

    2023-12-07

Mike Yeadon has been outspoken about the Covid deception from the beginning. He explains some devastating conclusions which many still have a problem recognising.

For my own part, like many others,  I came to much the same conclusions over much the same timescale from checking out the published statistics, and although I couldn't draw the same detailed analysis of the pharmacology, it was clear that this was a global hoax of a pandemic and not for good or acceptable purposes. Censorship of conflicting opinions is expensive, and not applied on that scale unless there is something that absolutely has to be hidden.

  • A Tall Tale of Abuse of Power?

    2023-12-07

Martin Geddes (yes, him again) expands the scope of his reporting, this time to relate a depressing story of power withheld, and indeed justice withheld.

We have been following his battles over the TV licence fee and the supposed obligation to pay Council Tax, but this is a new twist; although I guess we shouldn't be surprised that there are other allegedly legal obligations that are conflicted in similar manner.

Happily he hasn't sought to take on this battle himself, but reports on another's quest to maintain power supply to his home with a supplier of his choice.

"It is a genuine scandal, and forms part of a much bigger scandal of how power companies treat us like serfs and ignore the law with impunity"

"This is the critical point: NONE of these entities had any power to act whatsoever"

I can't imagine that any major power company

  • It's a COP Out

    2023-12-06

With COP28 rattling along in the UAE, there are three stories to entertain you today.

As with all things "Climate", none of them reflect anything new, it's the same culprits playing the interminably same old same old that we always hear from these gatherings, that we have come to accept as inevitable, that being relatively sane people we have come to ignore and filter out of our attention-space as deluded and irrelevant to real life.

Unfortunately for that response, the fact that we don't take any interest in climate catastrophisers doesn't mean that they don't take any interest in us.

Unsurprisingly their messages prompt much the same sort of "heard-it-all-before" rebuttals from those "climate-deniers" that can still be bothered to keep up, although this year the COP28 President, no less, did chuck in an attention-grabbing assertion that there is no science behind their relentless push to reduce the use of fossil fuels before our world
