  • BMJ Editors Take Mark Zuckerberg to Task

    2022-01-02

"We are writing to raise serious concerns about the “fact checking” being undertaken by third party providers on behalf of Facebook/Meta"

"The BMJ commissioned an investigative reporter to write up the story for our journal. The article was published on 2 November, following legal review, external peer review and subject to The BMJ’s usual high level editorial oversight and review"

"Those trying to post the article were informed by Facebook that people who repeatedly share “false information” might have their posts moved lower... "

"We find the “fact check” performed by Lead Stories to be inaccurate, incompetent and irresponsible"

Welcome to the club BMJ. Good to have you

  • BBC Chair Concerned About Disinformation, Conspiracy Theories, and Regulation

    2021-09-15

So is the new chairman taking steps to root out disinformation and conspiracy theories from the BBC output, and worried about the ever-growing proposals that would reclassify free speech as hate speech and thus effectively censor it, further restricting the BBC's journalistic licence to bully their interviewees both mercilessly and ineffectually?

Well, I suppose it depends whom you ask. No doubt if the chairman found any such undesirable output being put out by the BBC he would put a stop to it, but as always it comes down to who decides which output qualifies. Perhaps the chairman has a view on this.

Obviously the Regulator would set the overall standard and the tone, and the chairman would like better regulation (although he may not be specifically aiming at the BBC here, which by definition must already be beyond reproach).

Of course the unasked question is "who will regulate the regulator?", and that's because it must obviously be Parliament. Or the

  • Ofcom - Defender of (the Ministry of) Truth?

    2021-06-09

"These comments are sickening to read and show that much of the public has been deeply programmed by the fear propaganda and psychological manipulation that we, the press, perpetuate on behalf of our government"

If we think that censorship of the mainstream media does not (yet) happen, then UK Column have some news for us. An anonymous whistleblower lays out his personal statement in plain English for all to see. His primary concern is for the Covid scare-mongering, but if it can happen for one topic it can happen for any. Being polite he attributes much to ignorance and group-think, but how can these be considered valid excuses for any competent journalist?

Facts4EU.org is also dipping its toe into the censorship debate.

  • An Exploration of Soviet / American / New World Order Censorship

    2021-01-20

The AIER once again offers up a relevant exposition of one of today's most unwelcome features - censorship.

The author contrasts the Soviet style of censorship with what goes on in today's media:

"In his role as editor Sagaydak might consider it appropriate to pass over some event: a very bad harvest, an ideologically inconsistent poem...  an earthquake... He might prefer to close his eyes to a terrible fire... a tidal wave... In his view these events had no meaning and he saw no reason why he should bring them to the notice of readers, journalists and writers

"The managing editor of National Public Radio, Terence Samuel, channeled

  • Zuckerberg Appears Before The Senate

    2020/11/19

It has come to something when a "truth about cancer" web-site now finds it necessary to dig deep into the politics of the nation, but I think they have done us a service.

This is nothing about cancer, it is all about censorship.

  • "The Reversal of Everything This Nation Ever Stood For"

    2020/11/17

Monday's UK Column News report provides perhaps an unwelcome glimpse of where we are headed in the UK. It is admirably summed up by David Scott part-way through and in my opinion is essential viewing, touching as it does on so many of the major topics of the day:

Towards the end they disclose that up to 14 thousand may be working for the Cabinet Office - more than enough to give a mere 650 MPs the run-around I would think.

  • The Role of Web 3?

    2020/11/14

What is the essential divergence between our current political institutions and a government of the people by the people and for the people?

We all know the feeling that our politicians "listen to us" once every 4 or 5 years in order to get elected, and then go their own way on many topics that never featured in their promises list. HS2 springs to mind, but climate change is another topic that seems to have been manufactured by the UN and foisted on populations without a great deal of democratic support. Indeed some may suspect the WHO of complicity in setting up a much over-egged "pandemic", judging by the way that governments across the world are relentlessly locking down their subjects until "big pharma" can profit hugely from their vaccine roll-outs.

We could look at this as a difference between top-down and bottom-up policy-making - all policy-making is done by political parties influenced by NGOs, "think tanks", global bodies of the rich and maybe not so famous, global institutions that

  • Snowblind - Events and Consequences

    2020/11/10

Andy Thomas is a long-time speaker, lecturer, researcher - and organiser of the Glastonbury Symposium (no topic off-limits?), which unhappily had to be brutally restructured this year from the usual full three day event down to a one day Zoom call.

This video is taken from his presentation on that zoom call, back at the end of July, and it is interesting to consider where we were then against where we are now, in November.

Whatever your take on this year's happenings, Andy is noted for his impartiality, objectivity, and meticulous search for and analysis of the evidence. I'm sure you will find much to contemplate here:

  • A Contagion of Hatred and Hysteria

    2020/11/01

Dr Sunetra Gupta is now a well-known scientist and epidemiologist at the University of Oxford. In this article published by the AIER she explores the aftermath of the Great Barrington Declaration (which she co-authored).

"This refusal to cherish the value of the scientific method strikes at the heart of everything I, as a scientist, hold dear. To me, the reasoned exchange of ideas is the basis of civilised society"

"But Covid-19 is not a political phenomenon. It is a public health issue — indeed, it is one so serious that the response to it has already led to a humanitarian crisis"

I suspect that she may now realise that the first part of this quotation is as incorrect as it is possible to be.

"For the simple truth is that

  • Youtube Attacks!

    2020/10/17

We knew some time ago that the gloves were off as a number of Youtube channels were "disappeared" (including major channels such as Brian Rose at London Real).

This week the purge just reached another level with many channels now joining their forebears (over on BitChute!). Read the list on Twitter (whilst you still can). I don't suppose it's exhaustive.

If that's gone by the time you read this . . . see below!
