"This outrageous “National Terrorism Advisory System Bulletin” issued by the United States Department of Homeland Security pits government narrative against all others"

"the stage is set to completely criminalize free speech that does not bow to the government propaganda machine"

"it provides teeth to anyone who wants to bring an accusation against those who are telling the truth"

Technocracy News and Views reports.

A little less dramatic but still a huge step away from freedom of speech, our own government is busy trying to make out that "harmful" on-line speech should be censored by the social media providers on pain of penalties.

Our government recently responded to the petition "Do not restrict our right to freedom of expression online" by turning a rather deaf ear, so no doubt we can look forward to a dog's breakfast of an On-Line Harms Bill that will keep UK lawyers in funds for years.

Nobody wants "abuse" but one man's "abuse" is another's "fair criticism" and the line between them may be indistinctly defined at the best of times. In earlier years the justice system took a robust view of the matter and in more recent times confirmed the precedent that "freedom only to speak inoffensively is not worth having".

Good to know.
